Sessions are once a week, on the same day, at the same time. In times of crisis, or when you and your therapist feel like more support is needed, sessions could be more frequent. Rarely will sessions be every other week; that arrangement could happen as your treatment comes to an end, and we are transitioning toward termination.
Dr. Nguy has a 48 hour cancellation policy. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please provide at least 48 hour notice from the time of your scheduled appointment. For example, if your appointment is on Wednesday at 10 AM, you will need to provide notice by Monday at 10 AM, at the latest. If 48 hour notice is not provided, you will be responsible for the session fee.
Please arrive a few minutes early to give yourself time to relax and settle in the waiting room. I will come out to greet you at our appointment time. The goal of the initial session is to give you an experience of what it’s like to work with me. For this reason, we will start by talking about what brings you in. You will get a sense of how I listen and how I think. Towards the end of our appointment, we will discussed whether we are a good fit and about how to proceed.
